Hello, I'm Dr Kylie Read and I'd like to warmly welcome you to Family Tree Chiropractic.
I'm going to share my background with you now so that when we meet, we can focus on you and your family's health. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable, because that's when the healing magic begins!
I'm originally a South Island girl, growing up on a farm just south of Ashburton. I attended secondary school in Christchurch, which is where I began to explore the many possibilites and professions available today. I have always known I wanted to be in the health industry; I wanted to help people to get well and stay well. After exploring many traditional options, I realised that to be truly healthy, it is vital to look at the underlying cause and not chase the treatment of symptoms.
This led me to explore a different path and it has changed my view on health care forever. What drew me to chiropratic and what I love about chiropractic, is the inside-out approach. Enabling your body to function at its best, means you have the best chance of self healing and restoring optium function and health. Your body wants to be healthy, sometimes it just needs a little help removing the communication barriers. The best part of chiropractic is that it is 100% natural, with the 'side-effects' being better overall heath, a stronger immune system, increased coordination and reaction time and so much more. What's not to love!
After a year in Dunedin studying health sciences and four years at NZ College of Chiropractic in Auckland, I was finally ready to make my dream a reality and help people to live healthier lives through chiropractic care. It was during my years in Auckland that I discovered my real passion was helping pregnant mothers, newborn babies and children to achieve optimum health and wellbeing. Pregnancy and childhood is such an important time to ensure the body can function at its best. As the old saying goes, "as the twig is bent, so grows the tree". I have since completed a three year Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics with the International Chiropractors Association. I am one of only a handful of chiropractors in NZ with this qualification and the only one in the Waikato area. I love seeing how much of a difference chiropractic makes in the lives of expectant mothers and children.
I have spent the past three and a half years living, learning and working in Melbourne in a chiropractic practice focusing on family care. I have had the privilege of adjusting pregnant mothers, newborn babies just hours old, children, athletes, tradies, business men and women, as well as people in their 90's! Everyone can benefit from chiropractic care. I am grateful for my time in Melbourne and am excited to now be based in Cambridge.
Now that you know all about me, I would love to meet you and together we can find out how chiropractic can best assist you to live a happier, healther and well adjusted life. Be extraordinary!
